Terms and Conditions for Singles Events, Personal Matchmaking & Online Platform

1. Introduction

Joining Something Special Introductions as a Matchmaking Member or 'Takes Two' Member for Online Matching enables us to have data on you that we can use to determine whether you would be a good match for our members. No data is shared online by Something Special or via any platform without your prior consent. We use your profile solely in-house amongst our matchmakers. We will also use your data to invite you to upcoming events that may be of interest to you.

2. Application

These Terms and Conditions will apply to the purchase of membership by you (the member or you). We are Miss Julie Anderson trading as Something Special Introductions with email address matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com; telephone number 07368 539 594.

By using the services offered by Something Special Introductions (henceforth referred to as “the Company”, "we", "us" or "our”) you are agreeing to the terms and conditions (“the Terms” or “this Agreement”) set out below which apply to the use of both the website and our service and form the basis of the contract between us and you. You can only purchase the Services from the Website if you are eligible to enter into a contract and are at least 18 years old. The price payable for the services is as set out on the length of Membership Plan chosen and is inclusive of any applicable VAT. Your Membership with Something Special Introductions starts once payment has been processed.

3. Service Description

Something Special has different ways to help singles meet someone special. Something Special offers 'Little Something' Dating Nights and Singles Drinks Events, an online platform called 'Takes Two', personal matchmaking membership with the Introductions Plans, and a range of Dating Support services.

​

Our Matchmaking Membership searches within our membership base, including Matchmaking Members, 'Takes Two' Members and 'Consider Me' Members, and sends introduction emails on a one-at-a-time basis.

 

An introduction is defined as the introduction email sent by the Matchmaker to the Matchmaking Member recommending a potential match. An introduction is considered to have been made once this introduction email has been sent to the Matchmaking Member, regardless of whether the Matchmaking Member chooses to proceed, the recommended match chooses to proceed, or a meeting ultimately takes place.

We may recommend matches that meet some, but not all, partner preferences. If needed, we will also search among our broader database of eligible singles. We cannot guarantee matches, introductions, meetings, dates or relationships.

These Terms apply to all services provided by the Company to users of the service provided by Something Special Introductions (“the Member”, “You” or “Your”).

 

The Company reserves the right to change these Terms at any time, but all content published on this page represents the most up to date version.

4. Matchmaking Membership Options

This Matchmaking Service is for Something Special to look for suitable introductions within its membership base and organise 1–1 dates. Your matchmaking will begin once you have approved your profile following your personal meeting and all necessary documents have been received.

​

​The onboarding period for both Matchmaking Membership options will typically take around one month from receipt of your completed membership form, during which your personal meeting takes place, your Matchmaker profile is prepared and approved, and all necessary documents are completed.

​

Introductions are provided on a one-at-a-time basis as part of an ongoing matchmaking service while you are seeking a partner. Matches may be recommended even if they only partially meet your stated preferences. The number and frequency of introductions will depend on your individual characteristics, preferences, and the availability of suitable matches at any given time. Where you have identified specific requirements as deal breakers, these may significantly reduce the number of suitable people available for introduction and may therefore affect the frequency of introductions.

If a suitable introduction is not immediately available within Matchmaking Members, ‘Takes Two’, or ‘Consider Me’, we will continue to look as new members join and may also search within our broader database.

​

Your offline Matchmaker profile will typically be completed within 2 weeks of your personal meeting.

Your first introduction will be made following your personal meeting and profile completion as soon as a suitable introduction becomes available.

​

Introductions are provided on an ongoing basis, with the aim of providing one introduction within each month.

4.1 The Introductions Plan

• One-off payment for ongoing personalised matchmaking membership, with introductions provided over time based on compatibility and availability.

• An introduction is defined as the introduction email sent by the Matchmaker to the Matchmaking Member recommending a potential match. An introduction is considered to have been made once this introduction email has been sent to the Matchmaking Member, regardless of whether the Matchmaking Member chooses to proceed, the recommended match chooses to proceed, or a meeting ultimately takes place.

• Introductions are provided on an ongoing basis as part of a personalised matchmaking service, with the aim of providing one introduction within each month.

• If no introductions are made within a calendar month, a complimentary ticket to a ‘Little Something’ Dating Night will be offered (subject to availability). This offer applies for the first 12 months of membership only.

• Includes a detailed personal meeting (in person or via Zoom) with the matchmaker.

• Includes a complimentary photo session at the personal meeting (with the option to purchase additional photography sessions separately).

• Membership can be placed on hold if you begin dating a new partner. No introductions will be made while your membership is on hold.

4.2 The Introductions Lite Plan (Monthly)

• Monthly recurring membership. Can be cancelled at any time with 7 days’ notice prior to the next billing cycle via your online account or by contacting us. No refunds are provided once a payment has been processed.

• Introductions are provided on an ongoing basis, with the aim of providing one introduction within each month.

• If no introductions are made within a calendar month, a complimentary ticket to a ‘Little Something’ Dating Night will be offered (subject to availability). This continues for as long as the membership remains active.

• Includes a detailed personal meeting (in person or via Zoom) with the matchmaker.

• A photo session can be added for £30, with the option to purchase additional photography sessions separately.

Monthly membership payments are non-transferable, non-refundable, and do not contribute towards the one-off Introductions Plan fee. The Introductions Lite Plan and the Introductions Plan are separate options and the monthly membership is not set up as instalments towards any other membership.

​

4.3 Introduction Guarantee

Due to the nature of this service, Something Special cannot guarantee introductions, as suitability and mutual interest depend on individual compatibility and the availability of appropriate matches at any given time.

​

Introductions are provided on an ongoing basis, with the aim of providing one introduction within each month.

 

If no introduction is made within a calendar month, members will be offered the opportunity to attend a complimentary ‘Little Something’ Dating Night, subject to availability. For members on the Introductions Plan, this offer applies during the first 12 months of membership. For members on the Lite Introductions Plan, this offer applies while membership remains active. Any unused offers will be cancelled upon cancellation, expiry, or suspension of membership.​​

 

4.4 Membership Suspension
If you find a partner, the Introductions Plan allows you to pause and reactivate your membership if you later become single.

​

No further recommendations will be made while on hold. Once a plan is cancelled, membership must be purchased again.

​

The Introductions Lite Plan cannot be put on hold.

 

If the Introductions Plan is cancelled, full payment is due to rejoin. For the Introductions Lite Plan, rejoining requires payment of the full first-month fee of £300, followed by £125 monthly thereafter.

​

4.5 Reactivation of Matchmaking

If a member pauses their membership and later wishes to resume matchmaking, the following will apply:

• If the member returns within 18 months of their last personal meeting, they will be required to complete an updated membership form to ensure their information is current. A new personal meeting may also be requested by the member or recommended at the discretion of Something Special Introductions.

• If more than 18 months has passed since the last personal meeting, a new personal meeting is required before matchmaking can resume.

 

A fee of £300 applies where a new personal meeting is required or chosen.

5. Friendship Club

The Something Special Friendship Club offers social events and activities and is open to everyone, not just singles.

​

Friendship Club events are also subject to the Event Terms and Conditions, Cancellation Policy and Participation Policy. These apply to event bookings, including cancellations, transfers and refunds, as well as attendance and participation in Friendship Club events.

6. Little Something Dating Nights & Singles Drinks

6.1 Little Something Dating Nights

'Little Something' Dating Nights are in-person singles events organised by Something Special Introductions. Dating Nights are offered across a range of age groups, starting at 25–40 and increasing in five-year increments up to 65–80. Attendees must be within the advertised age range for the event they are attending.

All attendees at a 'Little Something' Dating Night are required to provide two forms of valid ID, one of which must include both a photograph and date of birth, and to sign and adhere to the Something Special Introductions Code of Conduct.

​

Everyone who attends a 'Little Something' Dating Night will be added to 'Consider Me', allowing them to be considered for potential introductions to Matchmaking Members, unless they choose to opt out.

​

6.2 Singles Drinks

Something Special Introductions also offers a monthly Singles Drinks event, which is open to singles of all ages over 18.

6.3 Event Terms and Conditions

'Little Something' Dating Nights and Singles Drinks events are also subject to the separate Event Terms and Conditions and Cancellation Policy. These apply to event bookings, including eligibility, cancellations, transfers, refunds and other event-specific conditions.

7. Online Platform – Takes Two & Consider Me

7.1 Takes Two Membership and How to Join

Membership on the 'Takes Two' platform is free, but ID verification is required. You can verify your identity in one of two ways:

• In person (free): Attend a Little Something Dating Night and bring two forms of ID (one must include both your photo and date of birth). ID verification must be completed on the night - it cannot be done retrospectively.

• Online (£25): Schedule a Zoom verification call and provide two forms of ID.

Please note: Purchasing a ticket to a Dating Night does not grant access to the platform. ID verification must be completed in person at the event or via Zoom.

​

To become a fully verified 'Takes Two' member, you must complete all five steps:

1. Meet the Matchmaker in person or via Zoom

2. Provide two forms of valid ID

3. Sign the Code of Conduct

4. Complete the Takes Two Registration Form (to create your profile)

5. Complete the private Consider Me form (used to assess potential introductions to Matchmaking Members)

 

Once your ID verification is complete, you'll be given access to the platform to finish your profile and forms and view the 'Takes Two' Updates page. Once fully verified, you’ll be able to view other verified members and request introductions.

 

If you no longer wish to be a member of Takes Two, you must cancel your Takes Two membership through your online account.

7.2 Requesting an Introduction

Verified 'Takes Two' members can view other members’ profiles and request to be introduced to someone they are interested in.

​

Requesting an introduction is free. If the person you have requested is also interested in being introduced to you, you can choose to:

• Be coordinated to attend the same Little Something Dating Night or Drinks - Free (each person books their own ticket)

• Share contact details - £12.50*

• Have your Matchmaker arrange a 1-to-1 date - £25*

​

*You only pay if the request is mutual and you both agree to be introduced.

​

Matchmaking Members can share contact details for free, and date arrangements are included in their plan. However, they must still book and pay for any Dating Night events separately.

​

7.3 Consider Me

'Consider Me' is the pool of individuals who can be considered for introductions to Matchmaking Members.

Everyone who attends a 'Little Something' Dating Night will be added to 'Consider Me' unless they choose to opt out. 'Takes Two' members are also included in Consider Me.

​

You can also join 'Consider Me' without joining the 'Takes Two' online platform.

 

There is no charge to join 'Consider Me'. If you have attended a 'Little Something' Dating Night, your ID verification is completed in person as part of the event. If you have not attended a 'Little Something' Dating Night and would like to join either 'Consider Me' or 'Takes Two', you will need to complete a Zoom ID verification. The cost of Zoom verification is £25.

To be included in Consider Me, you must:

• Meet the Matchmaker in person at a Little Something Dating Night or via Zoom

• Provide two forms of valid ID

• Sign the Code of Conduct

• Complete the private Consider Me form

The information provided on the 'Consider Me' form is used by the Matchmaker to assess your compatibility for potential introductions to Matchmaking Members.

​

If you no longer wish to be considered for introductions, you must contact Something Special Introductions to opt out of Consider Me.

​

8. Dating Support

8.1 Dating Support Services

Something Special Introductions offers a range of Dating Support services, including Profile Writing, Technical Help, Confidence in/Returning to Dating sessions and Photo Sessions.

Details of the services currently available, including prices and what is included, can be found on the Dating Support page of the website.

​

8.2 Rescheduling

If you need to reschedule a Dating Support appointment, you must contact Jules at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment.

​

Where at least 48 hours’ notice is provided, your booking can be moved to an alternative available date and time. If less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, the booking cannot be rescheduled and the payment will be forfeited.

​

8.3 Cancellations and Refunds

If you cancel a Dating Support booking at least 14 days before your scheduled appointment, you can receive a refund less a £3 booking fee.

​

Cancellations made less than 14 days before the scheduled appointment are non-refundable.

If you are unable to attend your appointment but provide at least 48 hours’ notice, you can reschedule in accordance with section 6.2.

​

8.4 Cancellation by Something Special Introductions

If Something Special Introductions needs to cancel a Dating Support appointment, you will be offered an alternative date and time. If a suitable alternative cannot be arranged, you will receive a full refund.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

9.1 Privacy

We value the privacy and experience of our members and reserve the right to take any action we feel appropriate to those who fail to adhere to the Terms of use laid out in this document, including but not limited to suspension or termination of membership without notice. In accordance with this, you agree that we may, at any time and without notice, suspend or terminate your account if you are found to have undertaken any of the following:

• cause distress or harass in any way a fellow Member, director or employee of the Company;

• take any action that may negatively affect the experience of fellow members;

• act fraudulently or mislead a fellow member or employee of the Company at any stage of the process;

• take any action that may bring the reputation and name of the Company into disrepute;

• provide any information or images that are not wholly accurate and/or for which you do not have permission to use;

• infringe the rights, including but not limited to privacy relating to the display and distribution of personal data and images of any other member or employee of the Company;

• disclose confidential information to third parties;

• enter into any discussions with the press regarding Something Special Introductions, our members or the services provided either during or after membership, this is to protect all members;

• disclose personal information to others about any members you may meet or receive profiles for including but not limited to posting online or altering any profiles or photographs you receive from us.

​9.2 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)

We will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the privacy of our clients is protected to the fullest extent, including but not limited to “personal information” as defined within the Data Protection Act (1998) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018).

We warrant that:

• We will never share any personal information with any third party unless legally required to do so or we have received expressed consent from yourself;

• We will take every reasonable step to ensure that all the information provided by you is protected and only used in conjunction with the services we offer.

• You will have the right to withdraw consent for us to use, access and store your data at any time, easily and swiftly. Should you wish to withdraw consent, your details will be permanently erased, and not just deleted from a mailing list. You will have the right to be forgotten. 10. Conduct — Your Obligations and Responsibilities

By accessing or using our services, you agree and confirm that you:

• are unattached, no longer living at the same address as a former partner;

• are free to begin and actively seeking a relationship and provide true and accurate information relating to your personal circumstances;

• are at least 18 years old;

• do not have any criminal convictions you have not disclosed to Something Special Introductions;

• will provide and ensure that all information (including photographs no older than a year) is current, true and accurate; changes can be made by emailing matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com;

• are not associated in any way with another introduction agency via employment;

• will not use the services for any commercial purpose or any purpose not expressly permitted;

• will act in good faith in all dealings relating to the site, the Company and other Members;

• must behave appropriately, respectfully and courteously in all dealings with members and staff, whether in person, phone, text or email. Intimidating, humiliating, criminal or damaging conduct will lead to termination without refund.​

 

11. Membership Obligations

• Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct signed at personal meeting.

• Inform the Company if you no longer want to be considered for introductions.

• Provide at least three good-quality photos for your profile.

• We cannot control other members’ responses or feedback.

• We do not conduct police or full background checks; exercise your own due diligence and caution. We meet members and verify ID and require signing confidentiality and conduct agreements. The Company cannot arbitrate disputes.

12. Website and Platform Use

• We do not guarantee website accuracy or uninterrupted service. We are not liable for loss of content or materials uploaded. Content and logos are Company property.

• By purchasing membership, you consent to your photos and text being visible to other members on Takes Two.

• Profiles and photos are vetted and inappropriate content removed.

• Members must adhere to codes of conduct on group chats and not share personal contact details publicly.

• Swearing or foul language is prohibited on the platform.

• Mutual matches agree to share contact information for dating nights or arranged dates.

13. Liability

We exclude liability for economic losses, loss of goodwill, or indirect losses except for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Invalid provisions do not affect the rest. Failure to enforce any provision does not waive rights.

14. Complaints and Problems

15. Suspending Membership

Membership may be suspended for up to 1 year for serious illness or injury at our discretion upon notification. You may suspend service as per your membership agreement with at least one-month periods. Services may also be suspended during investigations or if charged with criminal offences.

​

16. Termination of Membership (Matchmaking / 'Takes Two' Platform)

We may terminate membership if:

• You breach these terms;

• You fail to maintain contact for 6+ months;

• You provide false information;

• We receive justified complaints;

• Significant changes in personal circumstances that affect service delivery.

 

No refunds apply on termination except within your legal 14-day cancellation right.

17. Right to Cancel
You have a legal right to cancel this contract within 14 days from the contract start date without giving a reason. Cancellation must be communicated via written email to matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com. Cancellation outside of this 14-day period is non-refundable. This applies to all memberships. Please see the Cancellation Policy for event tickets.

18. Effects of Cancellation

If cancelled within the cancellation period, refunds will be processed minus payment processing fees and any services already provided.

​

Specific deductions apply as follows:

• Friendship Club Membership: Refunds will be processed minus a £2 payment processing fee (for a £50 membership).

• ‘Takes Two’ Membership: Free membership; no payment made.

• Introductions Plan: £300 relating to the personal meeting, profile preparation and onboarding process is non-refundable once any part of this process has begun.

• Introductions Lite Plan (Monthly): The first month’s payment of £300, which covers the personal meeting, profile preparation and onboarding process, is non-refundable once any part of this process has begun. Subsequent monthly payments are non-refundable once processed.

 

Refunds (where applicable) are made within 14 days of cancellation notice.

​

179 Continuity of Service and Business Closure (Introductions Plan)

The Introductions Plan is a one-off payment for ongoing personalised matchmaking membership.

Membership continues until cancelled, with the option to pause at any time.

​

In the unlikely event that Something Special ceases trading or withdraws the matchmaking service:

• No refunds will be provided where membership has been active for 6 months or more.

• Where membership has been active for less than 6 months, a partial pro-rata refund may be offered, calculated from the membership start date, excluding £300 relating to the personal meeting, profile preparation and onboarding process.

20. Loyalty Rewards & Introduce a Friend

20.1 Loyalty Rewards

Loyalty Stars are awarded for registration, event attendance and membership purchases. Stars can accumulate towards discounts on Friendship Events, Singles Events and Matchmaking Plans.

 

No Stars are awarded where tickets or membership are cancelled.

20.2 Introduce a Friend

You can earn Loyalty Stars by recommending a friend. To recommend a friend, complete the online Introduce a Friend form with their details before they make a purchase.

​

You will receive 10 Stars for completing the form. Any additional Loyalty Stars earned for a friend's purchase or attendance will be added 14 days after their purchase or attendance.
