Online Matching & Personal Matchmaking

 Joining Something Special Introductions as a Matchmaking Member or 'Takes Two' Member for Online Matching enables us to have data on you that we can use to determine whether you would be a good match for our members. No data is shared online by Something Special or via any platform without your prior consent. We use your profile solely in-house amongst our matchmakers. We will also use your data to invite you to upcoming events that may be of interest to you.

 Application

These Terms and Conditions will apply to the purchase of membership by you (the member or you).  We are Ms Julie Anderson trading as Something Special Introductions with email address matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com; telephone number 07368 539 594;

By using the services offered by Something Special Introductions (hence forth referred to as “the Company”, "we", "us" or "our") you are agreeing to the terms and conditions (“the Terms” or “this Agreement”) set out below which apply to the use of both the website and our service and form the basis of the contract between us and you.  You can only purchase the Services from the Website if you are eligible to enter into a contract and are at least 18 years old.  The price payable for the services is as set out on the length of Membership Plan chosen and is inclusive of any applicable VAT.  Your Membership with Something Special Introductions starts once payment has been processed.

1. Service and Membership (Matchmaking and 'Takes Two' Platform)

These Terms apply to all services provided by the Company to users of the service provided by Something Special Introductions (“the Member”, “You” or “Your”).

The Company reserves the right to change these Terms at any time, but all content published on this page represents the most up to date version.

1.1 Membership - Your Obligations and Responsibilities

When accessing or using our services, you are bound by these Terms and agree to also confirm and warrant that you:

i. are unattached, no longer living at the same address as a former partner;

ii. free to begin and are actively seeking a relationship and to provide to us true and accurate information relating to your personal circumstances;

iii. are at least 18 years of age;

iv. do not have any criminal convictions you have not disclosed to Something Special Introductions.

v. will provide and ensure that at all times all information required (including photographs no older than a year) by the Company is current, true and accurate; should you need to change your details at any time you can do so by emailing matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com

vi. are not associated in any way with another introduction agency via employment;

vii. will not use the services offered by the Company for any commercial purpose or any purpose which is not expressly permitted through these Terms and the information provided on the website including but not limited to, the promotion of products or services;

viii. will act in good faith in all your dealings relating to the site, the Company and other Members.

viiii. You are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct at all times and so are the people we introduce you to. You must behave appropriately, respectfully and courteously in all dealings with other members and members of staff whether in person, by phone, text or email. We will not tolerate conduct that is intimidating or humiliating to others or results in criminal damage or damage to the good name of the agency or the well-being of staff and members. If you do not adhere to these terms, your Membership will be terminated and no refund will be given.

1.2 Whilst all our members for personal matchmaking services are interviewed, and ID verified, we accept particulars given to us in good faith. We advise you to verify the particulars of others for yourself and we cannot accept any liability for the validity of information provided. Your safety is very important, and we recommend you read our Being Safe when dating page. You are entering into a contract based on these terms and conditions on the date we receive your first payment, notwithstanding whether or not you have signed an agreement.

1.3 Your Service

i. This Matchmaking Service is for Something Special to look for matches within their Membership base and organise 1-1 dates.  Your matchmaking will get underway when you have confirmed approval of your profile following your personal meeting and we have all the necessary documents from you.  We will look within our membership base and send you match emails of others on a one at a time basis whilst you are still seeking a partner. We reserve the right and absolute discretion to recommend others to you who we consider might be acceptable to you, notwithstanding that prospective partners may only match your partner preferences to a degree, as this approach has proven successful for many of our clients. The number of recommendations we can offer will depend upon your own characteristics and upon how narrow or otherwise your partner preferences are, and we cannot accept any responsibility for the outcomes of our recommendations. If we are unable to find a Match amongst our Matchmaking Members, we will look amongst our 'Takes Two' platform of eligible verified singles for a Match.

ii. The 'Takes Two' is a matching platform where verified singles connect with local genuine singles to find meaningful relationships. The name reflects the essence of our platform - it Takes Two members to mutually match and meet in person. Members find their own Verified Match that has been ID and Photo Verified personally by The Matchmaker! 'Takes Two' and Matchmaking Members have access to Members' profiles. If verified, Members are able to Match with other verified Members. The Matchmaker will then contact your Match on the Member's behalf to see if the feeling is mutual. If there's a mutual LIKE/MATCH, Members have the option to:

• Share contact details with the member (free of charge)

• Attend a 'Little Something' Dating Night with a mutually appropriate age range

• Participate in a 1-1 Dating Night exclusive to Takes Two members.

Fees:Please note: 'Little Something' and 'Takes Two' Dating Nights incur a fee of £21.

1.4 Due to the nature of this business, Something Special cannot guarantee any matches will be made and 'match emails' received. Some Membership Plans offer Minimum Matches. A Member's Plan and what is included is emailed on purchase. We will fulfil our guarantee, if we are able, even if it is necessary to extend your period of service for free. The minimum matches are to ensure that most Members receive Matches but are not a requirement of the service provided. This guarantee is subject to no significant change in your own circumstances or partner preferences likely to make matchmaking significantly more difficult or impossible.  We are a small business which offers a unique and personal service for a fraction of the price of our competitors. We pride ourselves in that and try our absolute best to match all of our clients. Membership is for the chance of having matches and dates within Something Special Introductions' Matchmaking Membership base but there can be no guarantee. Sometimes it’s a long wait for a match and other times it is not. There is no refund due to the minimum matches not being received.

1.5 Where you have found a partner, some matchmaking plans can be suspended, for a maximum of three months according to your membership plan, and may be reactivated if you advise us that you are no longer in a relationship and where there is still service available within your agreement. As a courtesy to all members we will not offer you further recommendations when you have already accepted a recommendation from us and both parties involved agree to a date.  Contact information may be exchanged if both request it. It is your responsibility to let us know the outcome of your date and whether you are again free to receive another recommendation or wishing to put your membership on hold.

1.6 Terms of Recurring Matchmaking Membership Plans

i. Membership is as set out at Checkout and is inclusive of any applicable VAT. 

ii. Your Matchmaking Membership with Something Special starts once payment has been processed. ​

iii. Please see the terms of your membership plan. 

iv. The new 'Silver' Plan is a recurring payment plan every three months. This plan can be cancelled at anytime (either on your account online or by contacting the matchmaker) and will end at the end of your paid three month plan. Should you wish to cancel your membership completely, please contact your Matchmaker to inform them you wish to receive no further matches.

v. *The Silver Plan - 'Minimum of one match' guarantee - In the unlikely event a match is not given, the minimum match will roll over to the next three months if membership is continued. If Membership is cancelled before the end of the first three months with no matches, Something Special will continue to look for your minimum one match for you.

v. Should you wish to cancel your recurring payment, either cancel your plan on your profile, or contact Something Special with a minimum of ONE WEEK before payment is due. Cancellation after this time may lead to the recurring payment being charged. Refunds cannot be given.

2. Privacy

We value the privacy and experience of our members and reserve the right to take any action we feel appropriate to those who fail to adhere to the Terms of use laid out in this document, including but not limited to suspension or termination of membership without notice. In accordance with this, you agree that we may, at any time and without notice, suspend or terminate your account if you are found to have undertaken any of the following:

i. cause distress or harass in any way a fellow Member, director or employee of the Company;

ii. take any action that may negatively affect the experience of fellow members;

iii. act fraudulently or mislead a fellow member or employee of the Company at any stage of the process;

iv. take any action that may bring the reputation and name of the Company into disrepute;

v. provide any information or images that are not wholly accurate and/or for which you do not have permission to use;

vi. infringe the rights, including but not limited to privacy relating to the display and distribution of personal data and images of any other member or employee of the Company;

vii. disclose confidential information to third parties;

viii. enter into any discussions with the press regarding Something Special Introductions, our members or the services provided either during or after membership, this is to protect all members;

ix. disclose personal information to others about any members you may meet or receive profiles for including but not limited to posting online or altering any profiles or photographs you receive from us.

3. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)

We will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the privacy of our clients is protected to the fullest extent, including but not limited to “personal information” as defined within the Data Protection Act (1998) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)

We warrant that

i. We will never share any personal information with any third party unless legally required to do so or we have received expressed consent from yourself;

ii. We will take every reasonable step to ensure that all the information provided by you is protected and only used in conjunction with the services we offer.

iii. You will have the right to withdraw consent for us to use, access and store your data at any time, easily and swiftly. Should you wish to withdraw consent, your details will be permanently erased, and not just deleted from a mailing list. You will have the right to be forgotten. 4. Membership

You understand, agree and accept the following conditions by joining Something Special Introductions 

i. if you agree to an introduction you are obliged to adhere to the Company’s codes of conduct we provide all our members and you signed at your personal meeting.

ii. if you no longer wish to be considered for introductions, it is your responsibility to inform an employee of the Company;

iii. you must supply a minimum of three good quality photos that will be used on your profile;

iv. if you meet someone, either within the agency or by other means, and wish to put your membership on hold; contact the Company and we will put your membership on hold for six months.  After three months, your membership will then resume until the end of its term.

v. we are unable to control responses from other members regarding your details and profile or the feedback that we receive from a member following an introduction;

vii. your use of our services also constitutes understanding that we are not responsible for any potentially negative result of an introduction. We do not carry out police or full background checks nor can we fully verify statements about the individual including but not limited to representations about marital status. We meet every member to make sure they are who they say they are, we ask all members for two forms of Identification including proof of address and photographic identification and ask all members to sign our 'Confidentiality & Code of Conduct' Agreement. However, we strongly encourage all members to do their own due diligence and exercise appropriate precautions during introduction interactions. The Company is unable to arbitrate in disputes between members.

5. Online Membership

You understand, agree and accept the following conditions by joining Something Special Introductions 

i.Membership Access: Upon purchasing Membership, you'll gain access to the Takes Two Dashboard, Group Chat, and view other singles' profiles.

ii. Profile Completion: Fill out your registration form immediately. The information you provide will appear on your profile overview. Additionally, fill out your 'My Profile' page with photos and text about yourself to maximise your chances of finding a match on the Takes Two Platform. If required, the Matchmaker can provide technical assistance with this on your dating night.

iii. Profile Verification: Full matching capabilities are available after profile verification. Use your coupon with purchase to attend your free 'Little Something' Dating Night* to verify your membership. Bring two forms of ID, photos, and sign the Something Special Confidentiality & Code of Conduct Agreement. Your online profile status changes to verified after verification. *Please note that if you book a free dating night and do not attend, you will need to purchase another dating night to be verified. (See the Cancellation Policy).

iv. Matching Process: Once verified, you will receive a membership number and gain access to the matching form. The Matchmaker contacts potential matches if a form is submitted. All Members are given a choice of exchanging contact details (currently free) or meeting on a 'Little Something' Dating or 1-1 'Takes Two' Night. Both Members must agree. If the choice isn't mutual, both will be invited to attend a 'Takes Two' Night. Event participation incurs a £21 fee each.

v. Matchmaking Assistance: While Takes Two facilitates self-matching, attending 'Little Something' or 'Takes Two' Nights assists in meeting eligible verified singles in person with the Matchmaker.

vi. Matchmaker Invitation: Although Something Special matches Matchmaking Members primarily, we will occasionally look amongst those on the Takes Two Platform for a Match. If identified as a potential match by the Matchmaker for a Matchmaking Member, you'll receive an invitation to complete the Matchmaking Membership Form online for a personalised 1-1 date organised by the Matchmaker.

vii. Joining Fee Payment: Please note that this Membership is valid until cancelled. Members have the option to cancel their Membership at any time. Please be aware that this joining fee is an initial special price. Something Special reserves the right to terminate this membership if and when this platform transitions to a chargeable monthly service. In such an event, you would need to renew your membership if you wish to continue at that time.

viii. Expedited Verification for Established Members: Existing Friendship Club Members or those attending three 'Little Something' Dating Nights can expedite verification. Provide photos, two forms of ID, and sign the code of conduct at a Friendship Event or via WhatsApp.

6. Our Website (including our Groups)

i. While we will use reasonable endeavours to verify the accuracy of any information we place on the website, we make no warranties, whether express or implied in relation to its accuracy. We make no warranty that the website will meet your requirements or will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs or represents the full functionality, accuracy and reliability of the Website. We will not be responsible or liable to you for any loss of content or material uploaded or transmitted through the Website. All content, images and logos on the website or provided to you by the Company are the sole property of the Company.

ii. ‘Takes Two’ & Matchmaking Members Online Permission - On purchasing Membership, Members agree for their photos and text that they provide on their registration form and profile to be seen by other Platform Members. They acknowledge and consent to the sharing of this information within the ‘Takes Two’ Platform. This agreement is essential for enabling other members to view your profile and make informed decisions about potential matches.

iii. All information and photos supplied to your online profile for the 'Takes Two' Platform will be vetted by Something Special Introductions. If deemed inappropriate or misleading in any way, photographs and profile information will be deleted.  Please make sure you adhere to the code of conduct when uploading photographs and content.

iv. All Something Special Matchmaking and 'Takes Two' Platform Members have access to our 'Takes Two' Group for Singles. This group is a place to be informed of upcoming events, share past events and interact with other Members with access. On this group, you are obliged to adhere to the Company’s codes of conduct we provide all our members and you signed at your personal meeting.

v. Under no circumstances must any personal information (including any form of contact information) be given in the groups.  This is a public forum for all members of Something Special Introductions. If you talk to someone that you would be interested in meeting, contact us and we will ask and set up the date for you.

vi. Swearing or foul language is not allowed on the Takes Two Platform.

vii. 'Takes Two' Members and all those who attend 'Little Something' Dating Events - If two people match under any of the three match choices (Something Special/ Little Something/ Friends) both parties agree they are happy for their chosen contact information (mobile number/ email address or both)  to be exchanged.  If registration is not completed and the chosen contact information is not known, we will provide the mobile number of the attendee only.

viii. As stated above, if a Member of the online profile submits the Matching Form, the Matchmaker will then contact your Match on the Member's behalf to see if the feeling is mutual. Equal Options:Please note that the other Takes Two member will also have the same options stated above upon contact. It is understood that some members may prefer not to provide contact details. In cases of differing preferences, should there be a mutual match, both members will be invited to book and attend the same Takes Two 1-1 Dating Night to meet each other, with other Members doing the same.

7. Liability

We will not be liable, in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence), pre-contract or other representations (other than fraudulent or negligent misrepresentations) or otherwise out of or in connection with the Conditions for any economic losses (including without limitation loss of revenues, profits, contracts, business or anticipated savings), or any loss of goodwill or reputation; or any special or indirect losses suffered or incurred by that party arising out of or in connection with the provisions of any matter under the conditions. Nothing in the Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or that of our servants, agents or employees.

If any provision contained within these Terms is determined to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it does not affect the validity of all remaining provisions which remain binding. Any failure by the Company to enforce any or all of these provisions does not constitute a waiver of aforementioned provision.

8. If there is a problem with the services

If you have any questions or complaints about our services, please contact us. You can do so by calling us on 07368 539 594, Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, or contacting us via email: matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com.  We are under a legal duty to supply services that are in conformity with this contract and in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (the Act).

9. Suspending Membership

Should you experience the onset or exacerbation of a serious condition or suffer a serious injury, then at the company’s discretion, services may be suspended for up to 1 year if you let us know at the time of onset. Additionally, your service can be suspended by you if detailed in your membership agreement. Periods of suspension are each for at least one month and it remains your responsibility to inform us if you would like to reactivate your service. If you have not responded to our communications or we are investigating some aspect of your membership, your service may also need to be suspended. If you are charged with a criminal offence your service will be suspended, awaiting outcome of any potential prosecution.

10. Terminating Membership (Matchmaking / 'Takes Two' Platform)

We have the right to terminate your membership in the following circumstances where:

• You have breached these terms and conditions

• You have failed to maintain contact with us or not responded to our contacts for a period of more than 6 months

• You have provided false information to us

• We have received a complaint about you which in the sole opinion of our Managing Director, is justified. Your personal details or partner preferences have changed significantly. This would include but is not limited to: a change in your sexual orientation; the acquisition of a criminal record, or relocation which would significantly adversely impact on our ability to deliver the service to you

For the avoidance of any doubt, in the event of a termination of this contract no refund will be applicable unless we have breached these terms and conditions or your consumer rights. You will not be entitled to any refund for any other reasons other than your legal right to cancel within 14 days of when this contract commences, and this includes but is not limited to, the formation of a lasting relationship before the expiry date of your membership with us. This contract is for the maximum service term detailed on your membership agreement if that is required, with no refund is applicable for early termination.

11. Right to Cancel

Your contract with us commences on the date that we receive your first payment. The Consumer Contracts Regulations (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) 2013 apply and you have the legal right to cancel this contract for any reason within 14 days of the date that your contract commences, (the Cancellation Period). You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The Cancellation Period will expire after 14 days from the date that your contract commenced. These rights to cancel are not applicable to any leisure activities including events/holidays. To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel this contract by a clear written statement via email: matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com

To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient for you to send your communication concerning your exercise of the right to cancel before the cancellation period has expired.

12. Effects Of Cancellation

Within the Cancellation Period if you cancel this contract, we will reimburse you all payments received from you minus charges for payment made via the website with Stripe, the credit card provider. Booking fees for events are non refundable (usually 50p/ £1/ £2 depending on event). 'Takes Two' Membership & Matchmaking fees for refunds are as follow; 'Takes Two' (£1), Silver (£2), White Gold (£5) and Platinum (£10). The Cancellation Policy for events can be seen here. We will make the reimbursement without undue delay, and not later than 14 days after the day on which we are informed about your decision to cancel this contract. We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise.

If you cancel during the cancellation period, we may charge you for any services provided up until the point when we receive your cancellation notice and will provide a partial and proportional refund accordingly. Specifically, the following deductions from your refund will be applied where applicable:-

For 'Takes Two' Membership

• If you have attended your 'Little Something' Dating Night included with Membership (worth £21), the Membership cost will not be refunded.

Something Special Membership

• Admin for all members due to creation of Member's profile created from submitted Membership Form prior to Personal Meeting/ Zoom Meeting £30,

• A personal profiling consultation, £80 plus any consultant’s travel costs if applicable. (Silver Plan - Zoom 30 Minute Meeting, £20)

• Profiling, data entry, initial searches and administration following your Personal Meeting/ Zoom Meeting, £80  (Silver Plan holders £40)

13. Introduce a Friend

Receive loyalty stars for recommending a friend! Loyalty stars add up to give money-off coupons for Friendship Events, Singles' Events & Matchmaking Plans. It is easy to recommend a friend - fill in the form online with your friend's details BEFORE they purchase anything...You even get 10 Stars just for filling in this form!!

 

14. Loyalty Rewards

Points are given to those who have registered to the Something Special website and attend events or purchase Membership. Click here to find out how rewards are awarded. Should a friend be introduced, loyalty stars will be awarded to your account 14 days after your friend has purchased or attended any of the above. If a ticket or membership is cancelled - no Stars will be awarded.
