Terms and Conditions for Singles Events, Personal Matchmaking & Online Platform

1. Introduction

Joining Something Special Introductions as a Matchmaking Member or 'Takes Two' Member for Online Matching enables us to have data on you that we can use to determine whether you would be a good match for our members. No data is shared online by Something Special or via any platform without your prior consent. We use your profile solely in-house amongst our matchmakers. We will also use your data to invite you to upcoming events that may be of interest to you.

2. Application

These Terms and Conditions will apply to the purchase of membership by you (the member or you). We are Miss Julie Anderson trading as Something Special Introductions with email address matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com; telephone number 07368 539 594.

By using the services offered by Something Special Introductions (henceforth referred to as “the Company”, "we", "us" or "our”) you are agreeing to the terms and conditions (“the Terms” or “this Agreement”) set out below which apply to the use of both the website and our service and form the basis of the contract between us and you. You can only purchase the Services from the Website if you are eligible to enter into a contract and are at least 18 years old. The price payable for the services is as set out on the length of Membership Plan chosen and is inclusive of any applicable VAT. Your Membership with Something Special Introductions starts once payment has been processed.

3. Service Description

Something Special has different ways to help singles meet someone special. Something Special offers 'Little Something' Dating Nights and Singles Drinks Events, an online platform called 'Takes Two' and personal matchmaking membership with The Introductions Plans. Our Matchmaking Membership searches within our Membership base (Matchmaking Members and 'Takes Two' Members) and sends Introduction emails on a one-at-a-time basis while you are seeking a partner. We may recommend matches that meet some, but not all, partner preferences. If needed, we will also search among our database of eligible singles. We cannot guarantee matches or introductions.

These Terms apply to all services provided by the Company to users of the service provided by Something Special Introductions (“the Member”, “You” or “Your”).

The Company reserves the right to change these Terms at any time, but all content published on this page represents the most up to date version.

4. Matchmaking Membership Options

This Matchmaking Service is for Something Special to look for matches within their Membership base and organise 1-1 dates. Your matchmaking will begin once you have approved your profile following your personal meeting and all necessary documents are received. We will send introduction emails on a one-at-a-time basis while you are seeking a partner. We may recommend matches even if they only partially meet your partner preferences. The number of recommendations depends on your characteristics and partner preferences. If unable to find a match among Matchmaking Members, 'Takes Two' and 'Consider Me' Members, we will look in our broader database.

Your offline Matchmaker profile will be completed within 2 weeks of your personal meeting. Your first introduction will be arranged within the following week (within 3 weeks of your personal meeting). If a suitable introduction is not immediately available, you will be updated as searches continue.

Introductions are aimed at one per month, more if possible.

4.1 The Introductions Plan

• One-off payment for unlimited matchmaking introductions.

• Membership lasts until cancelled, with an indefinite pause option. New membership must be purchased if still required after cancellation.

• Includes one match per month, more if possible.

• If no matches are made within a calendar month, a complimentary ticket to a ‘Little Something’ Dating Night will be offered. This offer applies only for the first 12 months of membership. After this period, the complimentary Dating Night offer will end.

• Comes with a detailed personal meeting (in person or via Zoom) with the matchmaker.

• Includes a photo session at the personal meeting (with the option to purchase further photography sessions separately).

• Membership can be placed on hold if you wish to start dating a new partner. No further recommendations will be made while on hold.

4.2 The Introductions Lite Plan (Monthly)

• Monthly recurring membership. Can be cancelled any time with 7 days’ notice before the next billing cycle via online account or by contacting us. No refunds after payment is processed.

• Includes one match per month, more if possible.

• If no matches are made within a calendar month, a complimentary ticket to a ‘Little Something’ Dating Night will be offered. This offer continues for as long as the membership remains active.

• Comes with a detailed personal meeting (in person or via Zoom) with the matchmaker.

• A photo session can be added for £30, with options to purchase additional photography sessions separately.

4.3 Introduction Guarantee

Due to the nature of this business, Something Special cannot guarantee matches or 'introduction emails'. Although the current Introductions Plans do not provide any guarantee of personal introductions, we aim to offer one introduction per month, or more if possible. If no introduction is made within a month, members will be offered the opportunity to attend a complimentary Dating Night. This applies only while membership remains active; any unused codes will be cancelled immediately upon cancellation or expiry of membership. Any previous membership plans remain subject to their original terms.

4.4 Membership Suspension
If you find a partner, the Introductions Plan allows unlimited suspension and reactivation if you later become single. No further recommendations will be made while on hold. Once a plan is cancelled, membership must be purchased again.

The Introductions Lite Plan cannot be put on hold.

If the Introductions Plan is cancelled, full payment is due to rejoin. For the Introductions Lite Plan, rejoining requires payment of the full first-month fee of £300, followed by £100 monthly thereafter.

5. Online Platform – Takes Two

5.1 Membership and How to Join

Membership on the Takes Two platform is free, but verification is required. You can verify your identity in one of two ways:

• In person (free): Attend a Little Something Dating Night and bring two forms of ID (one must include both your photo and date of birth). Verification must be completed on the night — it cannot be done retrospectively.

• Online (£21): Schedule a Zoom verification call and provide two forms of ID.

Please note: Simply purchasing a ticket to a Dating Night does not grant access to the platform. Verification must be completed in person at the event or started in advance via Zoom.

To become a verified member, you must complete all five steps:

1. Meet the Matchmaker in person or via Zoom

2. Provide two forms of valid ID

3. Sign the Code of Conduct

4. Complete the Takes Two Registration Form (to create your profile)

5. Complete the private Consider Me form (used to assess potential matches with Matchmaking Members)

Once your initial meeting is complete, you'll be given access to the platform to finish your profile, forms, and join the group chat. Once fully verified, you’ll be able to view other verified members and request introductions.

5.2 Requesting to Match

Verified membership grants access to the Takes Two Dashboard, Group Chat, and other members’ profiles. Members can request to match with others, be matched directly via the platform, and be considered for introductions to Matchmaking Members — all at no extra cost.

Requesting a match is free. If both members agree to connect:

• The person who requested the match pays £10.50 to share contact details

• Alternatively, they can choose to arrange a 1-to-1 date through the platform for £21

• If both prefer to attend a Little Something Dating Night, each person must book and pay the standard ticket price of £21

Matchmaking Members can share contact details for free, and date arrangements are included in their plan. However, they must still book and pay for any Dating Night events separately.

To get the most out of the platform, members are encouraged to complete their profiles fully — including photos and personal information. Assistance is available.

5.3 Consider Me

This option is for individuals who want to be considered for introductions to Matchmaking Members, but who do not wish to join the Takes Two online platform.

• Free if you’ve attended a Little Something Dating Night

• £21 if not — this includes Zoom verification

You’ll need to complete the same verification steps as Takes Two members, except for the registration form:

• Meet the Matchmaker (in person or via Zoom)

• Provide two forms of valid ID

• Sign the Code of Conduct

• Complete the Consider Me form

This process enables the Matchmaker to assess your compatibility for potential future introductions.

6. Privacy and Conduct

6.1 Privacy

We value the privacy and experience of our members and reserve the right to take any action we feel appropriate to those who fail to adhere to the Terms of use laid out in this document, including but not limited to suspension or termination of membership without notice. In accordance with this, you agree that we may, at any time and without notice, suspend or terminate your account if you are found to have undertaken any of the following:

• cause distress or harass in any way a fellow Member, director or employee of the Company;

• take any action that may negatively affect the experience of fellow members;

• act fraudulently or mislead a fellow member or employee of the Company at any stage of the process;

• take any action that may bring the reputation and name of the Company into disrepute;

• provide any information or images that are not wholly accurate and/or for which you do not have permission to use;

• infringe the rights, including but not limited to privacy relating to the display and distribution of personal data and images of any other member or employee of the Company;

• disclose confidential information to third parties;

• enter into any discussions with the press regarding Something Special Introductions, our members or the services provided either during or after membership, this is to protect all members;

• disclose personal information to others about any members you may meet or receive profiles for including but not limited to posting online or altering any profiles or photographs you receive from us.

6.2 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)

We will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the privacy of our clients is protected to the fullest extent, including but not limited to “personal information” as defined within the Data Protection Act (1998) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018).

We warrant that:

• We will never share any personal information with any third party unless legally required to do so or we have received expressed consent from yourself;

• We will take every reasonable step to ensure that all the information provided by you is protected and only used in conjunction with the services we offer.

• You will have the right to withdraw consent for us to use, access and store your data at any time, easily and swiftly. Should you wish to withdraw consent, your details will be permanently erased, and not just deleted from a mailing list. You will have the right to be forgotten. 7. Conduct — Your Obligations and Responsibilities

By accessing or using our services, you agree and confirm that you:

• are unattached, no longer living at the same address as a former partner;

• are free to begin and actively seeking a relationship and provide true and accurate information relating to your personal circumstances;

• are at least 18 years old;

• do not have any criminal convictions you have not disclosed to Something Special Introductions;

• will provide and ensure that all information (including photographs no older than a year) is current, true and accurate; changes can be made by emailing matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com;

• are not associated in any way with another introduction agency via employment;

• will not use the services for any commercial purpose or any purpose not expressly permitted;

• will act in good faith in all dealings relating to the site, the Company and other Members;

• must behave appropriately, respectfully and courteously in all dealings with members and staff, whether in person, phone, text or email. Intimidating, humiliating, criminal or damaging conduct will lead to termination without refund.​

 

8. Membership Obligations

• Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct signed at personal meeting.

• Inform the Company if you no longer want to be considered for introductions.

• Provide at least three good-quality photos for your profile.

• We cannot control other members’ responses or feedback.

• We do not conduct police or full background checks; exercise your own due diligence and caution. We meet members and verify ID and require signing confidentiality and conduct agreements. The Company cannot arbitrate disputes.

9. Website and Platform Use

• We do not guarantee website accuracy or uninterrupted service. We are not liable for loss of content or materials uploaded. Content and logos are Company property.

• By purchasing membership, you consent to your photos and text being visible to other members on Takes Two.

• Profiles and photos are vetted and inappropriate content removed.

• Members must adhere to codes of conduct on group chats and not share personal contact details publicly.

• Swearing or foul language is prohibited on the platform.

• Mutual matches agree to share contact information for dating nights or arranged dates.

10. Liability

We exclude liability for economic losses, loss of goodwill, or indirect losses except for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Invalid provisions do not affect the rest. Failure to enforce any provision does not waive rights.

11. Complaints and Problems

12. Suspending Membership

Membership may be suspended for up to 1 year for serious illness or injury at our discretion upon notification. You may suspend service as per your membership agreement with at least one-month periods. Services may also be suspended during investigations or if charged with criminal offences.

13. Termination of Membership (Matchmaking / 'Takes Two' Platform)

We may terminate membership if:

• You breach these terms;

• You fail to maintain contact for 6+ months;

• You provide false information;

• We receive justified complaints;

• Significant changes in personal circumstances that affect service delivery.

No refunds apply on termination except within your legal 14-day cancellation right.

14. Right to Cancel

You have a legal right to cancel this contract within 14 days from contract start date without giving reason. Cancellation must be communicated via written email to matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com. Cancellation outside this period may incur fees or be non-refundable.

15. Effects of Cancellation

If cancelled within the cancellation period, refunds will be processed minus payment processing fees, event booking fees (stated on Cancellation Policy) or any services given. Specific deductions apply for:

• 'Takes Two' Membership: No refund if the included free dating night (£21 value) was attended.

• Dating Night: No refund if added to 'Takes Two' for free.

• Introductions Plan: £30 admin fee, £80 personal meeting, £80 profiling and admin fees are non-refundable.

Refunds made within 14 days of cancellation notice.

16. Continuity of Service and Business Closure (Introductions Plan)

The Introductions Plan is a one-off payment for unlimited matchmaking introductions. Membership lasts until cancellation, with indefinite pause option.

If in the unlikely event the Company ceases trading or withdraws matchmaking service:

• No refunds if member has been active 6+ months.

• Partial pro-rata refunds for memberships under 6 months, excluding the £200 personal meeting fee, as follows:

17. Introduce a Friend

Earn loyalty stars for recommending friends! Stars accumulate toward discounts on Friendship Events, Singles Events & Matchmaking Plans. To recommend a friend, complete the online form with their details before they purchase. You receive 10 Stars just for filling in the form.

18. Loyalty Rewards

Points are awarded for registration, event attendance, and membership purchase. Loyalty stars for friends are added 14 days after the friend’s purchase or attendance. No stars awarded if tickets or membership are cancelled.
