Terms and Conditions

These are the terms and conditions for the The Friendship Club events with Something Special.  By attending and purchasing a ticket to an Event for Everyone through The Friendship Club & Something Special, you are agreeing to abide by these terms. The Friendship Club

​Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions will apply to all Members of The Friendship Club through Something Special (the member or you).  We are Miss Julie Anderson trading as Something Special Introductions with email address matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com; telephone number 07368 539 594;  

 

By using the services offered by Something Special Introductions (hence forth referred to as “the Company”, "we", "us" or "our") you are agreeing to the terms and conditions (“the Terms” or “this Agreement”) set out below which apply to the use of both the website and our service and form the basis of the contract between us and you.

These Terms apply to all services provided by the Company to users of the service provided by Something Special (“the Member”, “You” or “Your”).  The Company reserves the right to change these Terms at any time, but all content published on this page represents the most up to date version.

 

1. Terms of Site Membership

You can only become a member of The Friendship Club if you are at least 18 years old.

1.1 Events

Something Special organises events, or makes arrangements to join third party events, for the enjoyment of Members of The Friendship Club. All of these events could be arranged by individuals themselves or attended by any individual on their own. However Something Special makes life easy for you by taking the hard work out of the organisation of these events and additionally provides you with the opportunity to meet new people and attend these events in the company of a really friendly and welcoming group of people.

1.2 Membership - Your Obligations and Responsibilities

When accessing or using our services, you are bound by these Terms and agree to also confirm and warrant that you:

i. can only purchase the Services from the Website if you are eligible to enter into a contract and are at least 18 years old.  

ii. will not use the services offered by the Company for any commercial purpose or any purpose which is not expressly permitted through these Terms and the information provided on the website including but not limited to, the promotion of products or services;

iii. will act in good faith in all your dealings relating to the site, the Company and other Members.

iv. you are expected to adhere to the highest standards of conduct at all times. You must behave appropriately, respectfully and courteously in all dealings with other members and members of staff whether in person, by phone, text or email. We will not tolerate conduct that is intimidating or humiliating to others or results in criminal damage or damage to the good name of the company or the well-being of staff and members.

1.3 Membership Participation

Participation in The Friendship Club meets with Something Special is strictly voluntary and members assume all risks in connection with these activities. Membership is to get people together for walks, dinners, lunches, brunches, bowling, theatre and cinema trips and more.  Should anything happen to anyone, including children and dogs, on a walk or on any event (e.g a fall, hurt themselves or anything else) with The Friendship Club Events, Something Special Introductions takes no responsibility or liability.

Therefore you are not permitted to attend any Events with Something Special unless you agree to and comply with the following:

​

i. you accept that your safety at any event is solely your own responsibility.

ii. you represent that you are fully fit on attending events (including walking events), and have in your possession any medication that you currently take.

iii. you do not require any special attention, additional needs or special duty of care.
iv. by attending any event you agree that the organiser, Co-Hosts, Event Hosts, or other participants of Something Special are not responsible or liable for the safety of any member, or any members' children or dogs attending.
v. as an attendee of any walks, you agree and fully understand that outdoor activities can involve certain additional risks, hazards, and dangers to health and life. You agree and accept that you alone are responsible for assessing whether or not it is safe to cross roads, bridges, continue along pathways, lanes, roads, country trails, forest trails, and across parks, forests and open countryside.
vi. as an attendee of events with Something Special, you agree and fully understand than any travel/transition to an event or from an event or between events is entirely at the attendee's (Members') own risk, and you cannot hold Something Special, Organisers, Co-Hosts, or Event Hosts liable for any damages.
vii. as a member of or attendee at Something Special events, you agree to HEREBY: RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT, Something Special Introductions, organisers, Co-Hosts, Event Hosts, and its members/or participants in any activities from liability or to hold them in any way responsible for any injuries, accidents or other incidents or other problems relating to your person or personal property.
viii. Something Special reserves the right to update and make changes to this disclaimer and terms and conditions at any time.
ix. RISK WARNING FOR ALL WALKS: Please dress appropriately for weather conditions and carry a bottle of water and medication (if necessary). You need to be moderately fit for the walks and be able to walk for maximum 3 miles without a break. In these walks we use; pavements, cross busy roads, public parkland, towpaths alongside water, other public paths, rights of way, bridlepaths, country lanes and other established paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Please only wear good sturdy shoes, preferably walking boots and take care as surfaces may be uneven, tree roots may protrude, there may be low overhanging branches and some paths are also used by joggers and cyclists and sometimes cars (country lanes). Some tracks may be muddy and slippery. On occasion wild, domestic and farm animals may also encountered. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.

x. Photographs: We do take photographs on all our meets and these are shown on Facebook and on our website. If you do not want your photograph taken and shared, please ensure you remove yourself from the photos on the day. By allowing us to take photographs at the events, this is giving your permission with the knowledge that these photographs will be used both on Facebook and our website.

2. Privacy

We value the privacy and experience of our members and reserve the right to take any action we feel appropriate to those who fail to adhere to the Terms of use laid out in this document, including but not limited to suspension or termination of membership without notice. In accordance with this, you agree that we may, at any time and without notice, suspend or terminate your account if you are found to have undertaken any of the following:

i. cause distress or harass in any way a fellow Member, director or employee of the Company;

ii. take any action that may negatively affect the experience of fellow members;

iii. act fraudulently or mislead a fellow member or employee of the Company at any stage of the process;

iv. take any action that may bring the reputation and name of the Company into disrepute;

v. provide any information or images that are not wholly accurate and/or for which you do not have permission to use;

vi. infringe the rights, including but not limited to privacy relating to the display and distribution of personal data and images of any other member or employee of the Company;

vii. disclose confidential information to third parties;

viii. enter into any discussions with the press regarding Something Special Introductions, our members or the services provided either during or after membership, this is to protect all members;

ix. disclose personal information to others about any members you may meet, including but not limited to posting online.

3. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)

We will take every reasonable precaution to ensure that the privacy of our Members is protected to the fullest extent, including but not limited to “personal information” as defined within the Data Protection Act (1998) and General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR 2018)

We warrant that

i. We will never share any personal information with any third party unless legally required to do so or we have received expressed consent from yourself;

ii. We will take every reasonable step to ensure that all the information provided by you is protected and only used in conjunction with the services we offer.

iii. You will have the right to withdraw consent for us to use, access and store your data at any time, easily and swiftly. Should you wish to withdraw consent, your details will be permanently erased, and not just deleted from a mailing list. You will have the right to be forgotten. 4. Liability

We will not be liable, in contract, tort (including, without limitation, negligence), pre-contract or other representations (other than fraudulent or negligent misrepresentations) or otherwise out of or in connection with the Conditions for any economic losses (including without limitation loss of revenues, profits, contracts, business or anticipated savings), or any loss of goodwill or reputation; or any special or indirect losses suffered or incurred by that party arising out of or in connection with the provisions of any matter under the conditions. Nothing in the Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury resulting from our negligence or that of our servants, agents or employees.

If any provision contained within these Terms is determined to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it does not affect the validity of all remaining provisions which remain binding. Any failure by the Company to enforce any or all of these provisions does not constitute a waiver of aforementioned provision.

5. If there is a problem with the services

If you have any questions or complaints about our services, please contact us. You can do so by calling us on 07368 539 594, Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm, or contacting us via email: matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com.  We are under a legal duty to supply services that are in conformity with this contract and in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (the Act).

6. Our Website (including our Groups)

While we will use reasonable endeavours to verify the accuracy of any information we place on the website, we make no warranties, whether express or implied in relation to its accuracy. We make no warranty that the website will meet your requirements or will be uninterrupted, timely or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs or represents the full functionality, accuracy and reliability of the Website. We will not be responsible or liable to you for any loss of content or material uploaded or transmitted through the Website. All content, images and logos on the website or provided to you by the Company are the sole property of the Company.

 

All Members have their own online account and access to our online group for The Friendship Club. This is a place to see upcoming events, share posts about events and meets attended and talk to/ get to know other members.  If you choose to use our groups, you are obliged to agree to the following:- 

​

i. Under no circumstances must any personal information (including any form of contact information) be given in the groups.  Although private to the public, the content in these private groups can be seen by other paid members of Something Special.

ii. Swearing or foul language is not allowed on the groups.

iii. All information (including photographs) supplied to your online profile and on the groups will be vetted by Something Special. If deemed inappropriate or misleading in any way, photographs and profile information will be deleted.  â€‹â€‹â€‹

7. Terminating Membership

We have the right to terminate your membership in the following circumstances where:

  • You have breached these terms and conditions

  • We have received a complaint about you which in the sole opinion of our Managing Director, is justified.

For the avoidance of any doubt, in the event of a termination of this contract no refund for events will be applicable unless we have breached these terms and conditions or your consumer rights. You will not be entitled to any refund for any other reasons other than your legal right to cancel within 14 days of when this contract commences, and this includes but is not limited to, the formation of a lasting relationship before the expiry date of your membership with us. This contract is for the service term detailed on your membership agreement if that is required, with no refund is applicable for early termination.

8. Event Cancellation Policy

i. Admin charges for events are non-refundable.  

ii. Tickets for All Third Party Events are Non-Refundable.
