Cancellation Policy for Events

This Cancellation Policy applies to all ticketed events organised by Something Special Introductions unless alternative terms are stated on the individual event listing before booking.

​

  • Ticket prices for 'Little Something' Dating Nights and Drinks For Singles include a non-refundable £2 booking fee.

  • Ticket prices for Friendship Club Events include a non-refundable £1 booking fee.

​

The cancellation policy depends on how much notice is given before the event.

​

Anyone who has booked and paid for an event may cancel at any time by emailing a cancellation request to matchme@somethingspecialintroductions.com.

​

Please refer to the Cancellation Notice Period Table for a summary of the refund and transfer options available depending on the notice period given before the event.

Attendee Cancellations & Transfers

21 Days or More Before the Event

If a cancellation request is made 21 days or more before an event, attendees may choose either:

• A refund minus the non-refundable booking fee paid at the time of booking.

• A transfer to another suitable event, subject to availability.

7–20 Days Before the Event

If a cancellation request is made between 7 and 20 days before an event, no refund will be given. However, attendees may:

• Transfer to another suitable event, subject to availability.

• Receive a coupon code for the value paid if no suitable alternative event is immediately available.

Less Than 7 Days Before the Event

If a cancellation request is made within 7 days of an event, no refund, transfer or coupon code will be offered.

​

Cancelled Tickets

If you cancel your ticket and the event is subsequently postponed or cancelled, the cancellation terms that applied at the time of your cancellation will still apply.

​

Event Postponement or Cancellation by Something Special

Every effort is made to hold events at the dates, times and locations advertised. However, Something Special reserves the right to postpone, cancel, merge, relocate or reschedule events where necessary.

​

Something Special endeavours to achieve a balanced ratio of attendees at events where appropriate; however, this cannot be guaranteed. Where necessary, an event may be postponed, merged with another event or transferred to an alternative date.

​

If an event is postponed or cancelled, attendees will be contacted by email. Attendees who are unable to attend the rescheduled event should notify Something Special within 48 hours of the email being sent.

​

Attendees who are unable to attend the rescheduled event may choose one of the following options:

  • Attend the rescheduled event.

  • Transfer to another Dating Night within the same age range and of an equivalent ticket value, subject to availability.

  • Receive a coupon code for the value originally paid.

  • Receive a refund minus the booking fee.

​

Coupon codes issued by Something Special:

• Are valid for six months from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.

• Are valid for a single booking only.

• Cannot be split across multiple bookings.

• Reflect the ticket value originally paid, even if ticket prices have changed.

• May be used towards a lower-priced event; however, any unused balance will be forfeited and no refund, credit or additional coupon code will be issued.

• Must be used before their expiry date.

• Cannot be reissued once expired.

• Cannot be exchanged for cash.

• Are non-refundable.

If an event is postponed or cancelled, attendees will normally be contacted by email and asked to confirm their preferred option.

Attendees should respond within 48 hours of the email being sent.

​

If no response is received within 48 hours, Something Special may take reasonable steps to administer the booking. This may include transferring the attendee to a rescheduled event where one exists, or issuing a coupon code where no rescheduled event is available.

​

Where an attendee is transferred to a rescheduled event due to a lack of response, the booking will thereafter be subject to the standard Cancellation Policy. If the attendee does not attend the rescheduled event, the booking will be treated as used and no refund, transfer, credit or coupon code will be provided.

Complimentary Tickets

If you have received a complimentary ticket as part of a promotion, membership offer or special arrangement, these cancellation rules still apply.

​

  • If you cancel with more than 7 days' notice, the organiser will usually transfer your complimentary ticket to another suitable event.

  • If you cancel within 7 days of an event, your complimentary ticket is non-transferable and will be cancelled.

​

Additional Costs

In the unlikely event that an event is cancelled within 3 hours of the event taking place, the organiser cannot accept responsibility for any travel, accommodation, food, drink, childcare, loss of earnings or any other costs incurred by the attendee.

​

Other Events

Where an event includes food, third-party tickets, entertainment, activities, travel arrangements or any other pre-paid costs, different cancellation terms may apply and will be clearly stated on the individual event listing before booking.

​

Where costs have already been incurred by Something Special on behalf of attendees, these may be non-refundable.

​

Unless otherwise stated on the event listing, tickets for these events are non-refundable and non-transferable.
