How it works on the night
At Something Special Introductions, we believe it is only in meeting someone that you know if you have found 'something special'. The magic of 'Little Something' nights lies in its back to basics approach of getting two single people in a face-to-face meeting. We host events of different age ranges at different times. If we are not advertising a date for the age range you are after, please email us to register your interest with your age, age range and location and we will try and assist you.
So what happens when you arrive at your chosen venue?
Arrival and Registration
When you arrive, you will be welcomed by your hosts, who will check you in and give you your personalised 'Little Something' Match Record (including your number). The Match Record will help you to keep track of the singles that you would like to meet again and perhaps go on a date with. This is yours to keep. Please confirm we have the correct contact details to give to any matches from the night.
Your host will talk to you about how the night will run and answer any questions you may have.
After getting a drink and a short period of mingling in the bar, you need to make your way to the table number that corresponds with the number on your Match Record. Once everyone is seated with their first date, the bell will ring to signify the start of the first date.
After the first 6 min date, the men stay seated and the women move on to their next date.
How it works
Depending on the size of the venue and the amount of people attending, a 'Little Something' dating event is split into two or three lots of 5 dates, each lasting around 30-35 minutes. There will be a 15 minute break after every 5 dates, for a comfort break or time to get a drink from the bar.
You will have 6 minutes with each person, after which you will have a minute to tick a box on your match record sheet :-
"Something Special" if you Match and would like a date. "Little Something" if you would like to see the person again and it is a possible match. "Circle" if if you'd like to get to know them as just friends platonically.
Make sure that you do this after each date for the initial feeling of your meeting, you may find it harder later. Feel free to write any notes, this is your Match Record for your eyes only.
At the end of the dates, please tear out your slip in the back of your personalised 'Little Something' match record. Please fill in by ticking the relevant box by those you would like to see again /give your contact details to and place this in the box for your host.
Afterwards there is an opportunity for everyone to meet and mingle informally in the venue - this is often where you can see if your feelings are reciprocated, so make sure you don't disappear too quickly!
What happens next?
The morning after the event, you will receive an email with a password to give you access to our password protected private
'The Morning After...' area of our website. Here you will be able to see the photo (if provided) and name of each person you spoke to on your night. There is also a sample page on this area to show you what it will look like.
As decisions always seem clearer when you have slept on them, you have the whole of the following day to add your name and select 'something special', 'little something', circle' or 'please do not pass on my details' on their photos. If you cannot access the internet or do not want to change your choices, we will use the information from the slip you gave in on your night.
Something Special Introductions will then email you with any mutual matches and their mobile number/ email address or both. If you have not registered which contact information to share, your email will be the default contact information shared with matches.
